Kim Whiteley, President of MeeDerby, was quoted in Staffing Industry Analysts recent article, “The pay puzzle: Staffing’s new reality.”

As compensation continues to change in staffing, Kim provides some insight on how to get to a new role with higher compensation. She “emphasizes the importance of clearly articulating accomplishments and quantifiable results, regardless of whether a candidate works in sales, recruiting or as an executive.

‘If you were a salesperson for a large firm, how are you ranked in your office? Your state? Your region? The country?’ Whiteley asks.

Candidates must be able to communicate their achievements effectively and demonstrate the value they bring to a prospective employer.”

Additionally, Kim shares insights on how compensation is being structured presently. “ ‘There’s definitely a higher value placed on new logos and new business development versus working existing accounts,’ Whiteley explains.

However, she warns that compensation and commission plans need to remain simple and transparent. If employees don’t clearly understand how they earn their commissions, it can lead to confusion and frustration.”
