According to recent research published by the Women’s Business Collaborative in 2023,  “​for the first time, women lead over 10% of Fortune 500 companies.” This number is still not high enough but progress is being made. 

The same study finds that “Women CEOs in the public and private sectors, and women leaders in government cast a positive light on the talents, skills and contributions that women bring to their companies and their communities. Additionally, numerous studies have pointed to the improved performance of organizations with diverse leadership. It is important for our society and its organizations to fully embrace the power and the benefits of gender diversity at the top.”
