Robin Mee, President and Founder of MeeDerby, sat with Ryen Salo & Bridget Harper from ClearlyRated for their Survey Says podcast discussing the recent Clearly Rated’s Best Staffing Firm for Women award we won!
Bridget: “What does this recognition mean to MeeDerby and what does it mean to you specifically?”
Robin: “You know, this recognition is a capstone and an honor, to be a part of this inaugural list. I didn’t know until I started doing a deeper dive how many people participated in the process and how few were acknowledged as a Best Staffing Firm for Women. The fact is that there is so much work to be done in the area of women in leadership and to be recognized as a company that is doing some of those things is deeply rewarding and incredibly satisfying. I am proud of every person in MeeDerby, which is a small company. This recognition is a great spotlight to show what all of us can be doing, and what we should be doing to elevate women in the staffing industry and in the world.”
As Robin participates with many women in leadership groups, the Lady Leaders book club came together to write “Together We Rise.”
Bridget: You co-authored a book with 13 other women in the Staffing Space called “Together We Rise” – What advice do you have for other firms working towards supporting women – do you have any suggestions or tips for them?
Robin: “One of the biggest ways that companies can support women is by offering flexible remote work options. It, in my opinion, is the best way to attract and retain your talent. And this is not just women, it is everyone. There are two different things, flexibility and remote work. Flexibility is when we are doing our work and for many of us that is during traditional work hours. But also there is more built-in flexibility that can be accomplished when you create a more flexible work environment that’s performance driven.”
