In his latest Employment Report, Bruce Steinberg scopes out the likelihood of another recession

 

“Of course a recession is lurking out there — it’s only a question of when. Although it looks like the next recession will hold off for at least the next 12 months, anything is possible. Regardless, whoever is elected the next U.S. president will likely be burdened with one.”

The Jobs Report breaks down job growth and loss by sector. There are both the positive and cautionary statistics:

 

“The January unemployment rate inched lower to 4.9 percent, the lowest it has been since February, 2008, or in almost eight years.”

“On the other side of the monthly employment situation, the BLS annual revisions lower the level of the river in regards to the number of jobs in 2015.”
