Mee Derby follows its proven 13-step process for
successful placements. Step 1 is the starting point for new clients.
Existing clients begin at Step 2 by creating and submitting Job
Orders either online or by telephone with Mee Derby's assistance.
Step 1 - New Client Introduction
When new clients come to Mee Derby, we offer a three-part introduction
to set the stage for success. First, we do an initial assessment
to see if a working relationship can be mutually beneficial. We
gather basic information about the company to determine if their
needs are congruent with our areas of expertise. When they are,
we explain how we can help. Second, we discuss and execute the Fee
Agreement. Third, Mee Derby and the client undertake a detailed
briefing - in person if possible - to establish a close working
relationship. We get to know the history, management, structure,
culture, services, goals, procedures, and anything else that will
help us refer the best candidates. With mutual trust and understanding
- and shared vision - Mee Derby becomes a valuable extension to
a company's recruiting capabilities.
Step 2 - Submit Job Order
Mee Derby makes this step easy. The Job Order contains the position
description with prerequisites, performance expectations, and measures
of success. Each Job Order is unique to one position and is as detailed
as possible, to include all contact information, dates, figures,
progress records, and results. Once submitted, Job Orders are used
both internally and externally to identify qualified candidates.

Step 3 - Broadcast Job Order
Each new client company is assigned to an Executive Recruiter/Account
Manager who will manage the relationship and the specific searches,
and present weekly status reports. All new Job Orders are disseminated
inside Mee Derby for collective review. First, we check our Active
Candidates List to see if any matches exist. Next, we search our
Candidate Database for possibilities. Then, we initiate the extensive
search process.
Step 4 - Perform Extensive Search
This step is very involved and goes outside Mee Derby to our network
of contacts, partners, and researchers… all of the relationships
we have developed in the marketplace over 15 years. Most candidates
of Mee Derby are sourced by referral through our process of continuous
networking.
Step 5 - Interview & Assess Selects
Once we have identified a list of candidates, the universe is screened
to narrow down to a short list of those qualified and interested.
These candidates are carefully interviewed and assessed for their
qualifications, compatibility, and willingness to make a move.
Step 6 - Present Best Candidates
As soon as each qualified candidate emerges, Mee Derby presents
him or her to the client both verbally and in writing. We readdress
compensation at this stage and throughout the process to ensure
the likelihood that formal offers will be accepted.
Step 7 - Manage Interviews
Mee Derby manages the interview process to establish interest, or
not, quickly with each candidate. We schedule each interview, follow-up
to debrief both parties, and assess if things are moving forward
or not.
Step 8 - Conduct References
Mee Derby typically conducts preliminary references before initial
presentation. Once serious interest is established, we complete
in depth references before an offer is presented. In any event,
it is the client's responsibility to conduct their own references,
background checks, and degree verifications upon which to base a
final hiring decision.
Step 9 - Pre-Offer Stage
Mee Derby prefers to negotiate and settle all details before any
offer is made. This includes base salary, bonuses, commissions,
benefits, equity, and relocation. We are in a unique position to
help both parties reach an agreement through honest and realistic
negotiation. Our involvement ensures the best use of everyone's
time.
Step 10 - Formal Offer Stage
The client presents the formal offer verbally and follows up with
the written offer. Ideally, very little if any negotiation occurs
at this stage because the offer is already pre-closed.
Step 11 - Acceptance Stage
Mee Derby's candidate accepts. They were pre-closed. Mee Derby rarely
sees an offer rejected - part of our strategy to never waste anyone's
time or create unachievable expectations.
Step 12 - Transition Stage
A series of critical events occurs once the candidate accepts the
offer until the start date. Usually the candidate must resign from
a current job, serve out a notice period, deal with counter offers,
and possibly relocate. Mee Derby is very engaged at this stage to
give support and smooth the transition.
Step 13 - Guarantee Period
Usually spanning the first 90 days, Mee Derby is checking in with
candidate and client once a month to make sure that everyone's expectations
are being met.
