This sector is made up of many niches: legal, scientific, medical, engineering, information technology, accounting / finance, commercial, etc. The classic staffing company supplys administrative and light industrial workers. Yet most companies now have divisions that provide professionals and outsourcing. Information Technology Staffing is projected to grow 8% in 2010 and Accounting / Finance by 6%.

Professional Services
These are companies providing professionals working under contract (non-perm) either hourly or fixed-price.

Workforce / Vendor Management
Workforce Management is changing the way staffing is bought and sold. In 2009, 50% of all staffing services was purchased through a VMS. According to Staffing Industry Analysts, 50% of all Fortune 500 companies in 2009 used a VMS / MSP program and anticipate that number to rise to 68% in 2010.
